The base length of the pen holder is 11 cm from one end of the leaves to the other. The length of the actual portion of the hummingbirds' wings which will hold the pen is 7.5 cm from tip to tip. The wings are angled as such that the Pelikan polar lights fountain pen fits comfortably as does the MontBlanc Legrand rollerball. The pens are both stable when they are on the pen stand. Small vibrations or knocks to the surface the pen stand is sitting on does not dislodge them. The finish on this pen holder is very smooth. You can still feel the detail of the design, but each edge is smoothed so that there is very little risk to any pen finish. These holders are designed to hold pens from of all makes and manufacturers without risking any damage to the pens. We use this item to display various pens at our store location and have never seen a mark on any pen due to it being supported by this pen stand.
